Nova Voce is an auditioned men’s choir committed to promoting and performing music of the highest quality across Nova Scotia and beyond.

Interested in becoming a member?

You should have a good background in ensemble vocal music, some basic music theory knowledge, and a good ear. Sight reading skills, while definitely an asset, are not essential.
You should have a strong desire to make music with Nova Voce and be a part of our vocal camaraderie.
Auditions generally take place in August/ September and December/January of each year.
For your audition you should prepare a verse of one song of your choice which will be sung unaccompanied. You will then be led through a series of vocal exercises, some ear memory exercises, and some simple sight reading.

Rehearsals (September-June) begin at 2:15 on Sundays at the Leeds Street NSCC (5685 Leeds Street, Halifax) Room B272. Open rehearsals are generally held in September and January.
